Policy Patrol first to customize non-deliverable reports

Red Earth Software releases Policy Patrol 2 Beta

Carson City, NV - November 6, 2002 - Red Earth Software, developer of email policy enforcement software, today announced the Beta version of Policy Patrol version 2. One of the unique features of this product is its ability to customize non-deliverable reports (NDRs), a frequently sought after function that no other product has offered until now. Other features of Policy Patrol include user-based keyword filtering, virus scanning, anti-spam, attachment checking, archiving, reporting and disclaimers.

Policy Patrol is the first product that allows all Delivery Status Notifications, including non-deliverable reports (NDR), to be fully customized. Many administrators find the standard success, delay and failure notifications too technically advanced for end users and would like to make the notifications user-friendlier and include their contact details in case of problems. By making use of predefined templates, Policy Patrol can customize each notification individually. The templates can contain fields from the original DSN message, and the original message can be attached. It is even possible to make different notification messages for different users. In this way for instance, the IT department could receive more detailed reports than less technically apt users.

Email security & management

The product is easy to install and configure, and its powerful rules wizard allows you to create customized user-based rules by specifying conditions, exceptions and actions. Policy Patrol features include:

  • Intelligent keyword filtering using word scores.
  • Attachment checking based on size, name, type and number of attachments.
  • Spam blocking (real-time blacklists and spam header & keyword filtering).
  • Virus scanning with Kaspersky(TM) Anti-Virus engine.
  • Disclaimers (optionally with merge fields, formatting, pictures & attachments).
  • Delaying of messages. Filtering on domains and email addresses.
  • Approval or rejection of quarantined messages via email, the web or remote installation.
  • Reports on email usage and rule statistics.
  • Archiving (including attachments).
  • Auto printing of emails.
  • Customization of Delivery Status Notifications (DSN) and NDR.
  • Converting HTML/rich text messages into plain text.
  • Email and network notifications.
  • Email management features, such as adding a Vcard or attachment, sending auto replies, adding an X-header, adding priority and removing read/delivery receipt requests.

Availability
Policy Patrol works with Microsoft Exchange server 2000/5.5, Lotus Domino/Notes and any other SMTP mail server. The product is available in two versions: Policy Patrol Disclaimers (disclaimer and send blind copy functionality) and Policy Patrol Enterprise (all features).
